Welcome to NAPLearn

NAPLearn is an Online Essay Grading System that enables Australian students in years 3, 5, 7 and 9 to practice essay writing skills in preparation for their NAPLAN* tests.

NAPLearn provides students and parents with immediate grading simulation & feedback on a submitted essay. This allows a student along with parents to discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the essay submitted, areas to work on and ideas for their next essay. Regular essay practice can deliver progress, improvement and confidence to sit their NAPLAN* online writing test.

To practice, once logged in, a student simply chooses their year group and the essay genre they wish to practice.

Once an essay is complete and written in the area provided the essay can be submitted via the Grade Essay button. The essay is graded, and returned within a few seconds with feedback via the NAPLearn results page.

The results page will give feedback and include a score against the NAPLAN* grading criteria of:

• Audience
• Ideas
• Character and setting
• Cohesion
• Paragraph
• Sentence Structure
• Spelling
